Conway is the Founder and Managing Partner of the Angel Investors LP
funds. Mr. Conway worked with National Semiconductor Corporation in
various research and marketing positions (1973-1979). Altos Computer
Systems benefited under his leadership in sales and marketing, as a
member of the Board, then as President and CEO (1979-1990).
Mr.
Conway led Personal Training Systems (PTS) for five years as President
and CEO (1991-1995). PTS was acquired by SmartForce/SkillSoft and he
served on their Board of Directors until September 2002. Mr. Conway has
served on several Boards/Advisory Boards including: The Red Herring
Magazine, Blue Pumpkin Software, AtWeb (sold to Netscape/AOL),
SendMail, Bright Mail Software, Ask Jeeves, Napster, and Support.com.
Mr.
Conway is involved in community activities as a member of the Board of
Directors and Treasurer for The Altos Foundation (1993 – 2000), which
has contributed over $8M to Bay Area Charities. He is on the
development committees of UCLA, St. Francis High School, Sacred Heart
Schools, and UCSF Medical Center. Mr. Conway serves as Chairman of the
Development committee of Ronald McDonald House at Stanford and the
Packard Children’s Hospital. He founded the UCLA VC Fund whose
investments benefit UCLA, and is a member of the DAPER VC Fund that
benefits the Stanford Athletic Department. Mr. Conway is also on the
Benefit Committee of the Tiger Woods Foundation.
Dave W. Florence, Advisor David
W. Florence is the founder and Chairman of Direct Media, Inc., the
leading list broker and manager in the U.S. Direct Media is
headquartered in Greenwich, CT with offices in Chicago, Atlanta, Kansas
City and Toronto. Mr. Florence started his career with
IBM as a salesman in their Data Processing Division, and later opened
the first New York office for National Business Lists. He is one of the
pioneers of the list management and brokerage industry, and he founded
List Management, Inc. in 1967, and Direct Media, Inc. in 1969. Mr.
Florence created the first public mailing list data base in 1971. Mr.
Florence is a former director of both the Advertising Mail Marketing
Association and the Direct Marketing Association and a current Trustee
of the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation. Widely
recognized as an industry leader, his awards include election to the
Direct Marketing Association's Hall of Fame in 2004, the DMA List
Leader of the Year Award in 1993 and the Direct Marketing Club of New
York Silver Apple Award in 1987. Mr. Florence received a
B.A. from Dartmouth College and a Masters Degree in Business
Administration from Columbia University. He also served as a Lieutenant
in the U.S. Marine Corps. |
Perry A. Lerner, Advisor Perry Lerner is a Managing Director of Crown Capital Group, Inc., a private investment company located in New York City. From
1983 to 1996, Mr. Lerner was a senior tax partner at O'Melveny &
Myers LLP, specializing in domestic and international tax planning. His
work at O'Melveny involved foreign and domestic mergers and
acquisitions of U.S. and foreign companies, intercompany pricing
matters and financings. In addition, he represented several domestic
and foreign motion picture companies in connection with the acquisition
and financing of entertainment products. Mr. Lerner is an attorney, a member of the Board of Directors of Boss Holdings, Inc. and St. John's College. |
| Steve Markowitz, Advisor
Mr. Markowitz is Chairman of Stockton Funds LLC, an investment management company based in Honolulu. Prior
to founding Stockton Funds in January 2001, Mr. Markowitz was the
founding Chairman and CEO of MyPoints.com, Inc., a leading provider of
Internet direct marketing and membership services. Under Mr. Markowitz,
the Company grew annual revenue to $64 million in 2000 from zero in
1996; it grew membership to more than 16 million consumers, or roughly
15% of all consumers online. Mr. Markowitz led the Company through the
acquisition and integration of three competitors and also spearheaded
the Company's entry into foreign markets--launching successful joint
ventures in Europe, Japan and Latin America. Mr. Markowitz orchestrated
the Company's successful $50 million initial public offering in August
1999 and $210 million secondary offering in February 2000. MyPoints.com
was one of the Top 20 performing IPOs of 1999 and was subsequently
acquired by United Airlines. Prior to MyPoints.com, Mr.
Markowitz served as a securities analyst for Fidelity Investments and
as a financial journalist for Dow Jones & Co., both in Tokyo. Mr.
Markowitz holds an A.B. in East Asian languages from the University of
California at Berkeley (high honors) and an MBA from the Haas School of
Business, University of California at Berkeley. Mr. Markowitz is an
active philanthropist. He is also fluent in Japanese. |
Edwin Miller, Advisor Mr.
Miller is CEO of Atlantic Capital, LLC, a wealth management and
financial services business based in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Atlantic manages hedge funds and advises high net worth clients on
their investments, tax and estate planning. He is also a Managing
Director of Carret & Company, a money management firm based in New
York with over $1.8 billion in assets under management and CEO of
Carret Wealth Care, LLC. Mr. Miller began his career at
Citibank as one of the original officers of the World Banking Group.
Later, he coordinated the establishment of Marine Midland's Merchant
bank in London, International Marine Banking Company Ltd. There, he
headed the Bank's global equity investment program. From 1974-1986, Mr.
Miller established three successful investment and private banking
businesses in London, Hong Kong, and New York for the Associated Metals
and Minerals Group, Metallgesellschaft AG and Louie Dreyfus et Cie. He
was also an officer and Director of the MultiMedia Corporation and
founder and CEO of Content Management Corporation, a partner of Oracle
that pioneered the storage and retrieval of digital media through
relational databases. |
Eric Remer, Advisor Mr.
Remer founded the Conclave Group, LLC and is currently its Chief
Executive Officer. The Conclave Group is a direct marketing service
company that is developing a proprietary distribution network designed
to connect national retailers and service providers to the
hard-to-reach apartment renter community. Mr. Remer was
I-Behavior’s Vice President of Business and Strategic Development since
inception of the company until January 2002. Prior to I-Behavior, Mr.
Remer served as the Director of Business Development for Learn2.com. As
part of the core management team that focused on the consumer web site,
he was integral in developing overall site strategy. His direct
responsibilities included identifying and executing strategic
partnerships that enhanced the site's distribution, e-commerce
offerings and community features. He developed partnerships and
relationships with some of the most highly visited sites on the
Internet. Prior to Learn2.com, Mr. Remer spent most of
his career working in investment banking, most recently with Vrolyk
& Company, a San Francisco-based investment banking firm serving
emerging growth and middle market companies. His work, in addition to
mergers and acquisitions advisory, and private equity financings,
involved analyzing principal investments and new business development. Mr. Remer started his career as a Financial Analyst with Kidder, Peabody & Company. |
Peter Rosenwald, Advisor Mr.
Rosenwald is a Senior Partner in Consult Partners, an international
network of strategic marketing consultants which he founded when he
retired from his position as Vice President Direct Marketing and
Executive Committee Member at Grupo Abril, one of the largest
communications companies in Latin America. Mr. Rosenwald
founded and served as chief executive of international operations for
both Wunderman Cato Johnson and Saatchi & Saatchi Direct Worldwide.
He writes, teaches and consults on Direct Marketing issues in the UK,
U.S., France, and Brazil and is the author of the Allowable Cost Per
Order software and the soon to be published book, Accountable Marketing. |
Jerry Shereshewsky, Advisor Mr.
Shereshewsky is Director of Agency Relations for Yahoo, Inc. with
responsibility to bring the message of Yahoo!'s integrated online
direct marketing throughout the U.S. and around the world to mainstream
advertising agencies. Previously, Mr. Shereshewsky was a
senior vice president at Young & Rubicam where he led such accounts
as Atari, General Foods, Frito-Lay, Johnson & Johnson, and
Gillette. Within the Y&R network, Mr. Shereshewsky developed and
launched Gevalia Kaffe for General Foods during his tenure at
direct-response giant Wunderman Worldwide. While in residence in
Atlanta, he helped create the Mello Yello brand for the Coca-Cola
Company. Mr. Shereshewsky also served as a senior vice president at the
public relations firm Burson-Marsteller. Mr.
Shereshewsky is noted as an early pioneer of Internet marketing. As
VP/Marketing & Special Products at Bertelsmann Music Group, Mr.
Shereshewsky ran the company's sales promotion efforts and created one
of BMG's first Web sites. Directly prior to joining Yahoo!, Mr.
Shereshewsky was a member of the management team at Yoyodyne, the
premier direct marketing promotion company online. Mr. Shereshewsky was
Director of Marketing for Yoyodyne at the time of its acquisition by
Yahoo!. Mr. Shereshewsky serves on the Board of
Directors of The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) as well as the
Dean's Advisory Board at the University of Wisconsin School of
Business, and the Advisory Board for the AdCenter at Virginia
Commonwealth University. He is a graduate of the University of
Wisconsin, where he received his degree in Russian History. |
Alan Silverman, Advisor Alan
Silverman is a partner in Essaness Partners, a private equity
investment firm with interests in: real estate development, technology,
consumer businesses, biotechnology and the rapidly growing Hispanic
market. While having served on numerous public, private
and charitable boards, Mr. Silverman is a past director of The American
Cancer Society, The Infant Welfare Society and the National Association
of Theatre Owners. He is currently on the board of The Lymphoma
Research Foundation. |
Paul E. Tierney, Jr., Advisor Mr.
Tierney is a Director of UAL Corp. (the parent of United Airlines); Liz
Claiborne, Inc; C&B Publishing; Earth Color, Inc.; the Argentina
Investment Fund; APB Multimedia; St. John's College and D.C. United
(Major League Soccer). He has been elected to the Council on Foreign
Relations and is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of
TechnoServe, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation. In
1978, he founded Gollust, Tierney, and Oliver, the Managing General
Partner of Coniston Partners, and several other investment entities. He
is Managing Member of Development Capital LLC, a private investment
vehicle, as well as General Partner of Darwin Capital Partners, LP, a
hedge fund specializing in Internet-related publicly traded securities. He
has also been a Senior Vice President of White, Weld, & Co., and
then a Managing Director of its acquirer, Merrill Lynch & Co., with
overall responsibility for transportation finance. Between
undergraduate and graduate schools, he also served two years as a Peace
Corps Volunteer in Chile. |
Marc Wunderman, Advisor Mr.
Wunderman is co-founder of Wunderman Corbett Associates, a consulting
firm providing marketing analysis, creative strategy and concept
development, creative execution, project management and full production
services for all communications media and has specialized in e-commerce
and internet companies. With an advertising agency
background focused on Direct Marketing, Mr. Wunderman has expertise
managing multi-channel marketing programs for clients. He has spent 24
years in Direct Marketing advertising account management. Most recently
serving as a Management Supervisor based at Young & Rubicam. Mr.
Wunderman has worked in account management positions at Ogilvy &
Mather Direct, Wunderman Cato Johnson, and Wunderman, London. For
the past 12 years Mr. Wunderman has specialized in establishing the
role of Direct Marketing for clients needing integrated and
multi-channel marketing programs. Mr. Wunderman created and taught
marketing courses on behalf of the U.S. Postal Service, served as
volunteer fundraising Director for the New York Red Cross, and donates
consulting services to the South Street Seaport Museum. |
